From his childhood until now, his fascination with the secret and difficult art of card and close-up magic still continues.
When not practicing magic, Lawrence enjoys tennis, billiards, tinkering, photography, and hypnotizing chickens (chicknotism).
MAGIC AS AN ART FORM
Magic is a unique and eclectic art that demands extensive knowledge of multiple disciplines. For example, a concert pianist must have nimble fingers and an aptitude for rote memory; however, he or she may not necessarily require finely tuned speaking or social skills. On the other hand, a skilled magician needs to be, among other things, an actor and entertainer. He must possess a deft mind and dexterous fingers, all while having a charming and engaging personality. These traits are often at odds with the methods in which a magician learns and hones his skills; practice and study typically require a quiet location and an analytical and patient mind.
“Magic is an art that takes a
lifetime to master, and then some.”
